Doctor in Physics by the University of Seville, where he currently is Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Physics of the Escuela Superior de Ingenieros, he has been Invited Researcher at the Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics (Germany), Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University (USA) and Invited Professor at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (México). His research areas include optics, mechanics, electromagnetism, experimental physics and physics of sports, in collaboration with Spanish Olympic Teams. Holder of several patents, he is the author of a method for digital image processing based on holographic recognition, which has received several research awards for its applications to analysis of microscopy images, guidance of disabled persons in sport practice and, mainly, computer-aided diagnosis in medical imaging. |
